I like to travel like anyone else. I enjoy going to new places, meeting new people and all the things that go along with that, but it just feels really good to get home afterward. It's a wonderful feeling. I could never be away for a really long time. Whenever I go on vacation for more than a weekend, I begin to anticipate sleeping in my own bed again and being surrounded by my things. I'm one of those people that prefer my adventure in smaller doses. I get homesick and really begin missing my loved ones, my house and my belongings. This has been going on since I was a really little girl, too, so I can't see it changing any time soon. It's just how I am. I'm just not a wildly adventurous person.

We have read many a times in books about successful people being consistent with their work and words they talk. One such example is my role model Sachin Tendulkar and I like him not because he plays best cricket but, he is consistent and persistent with his work. He is always focused and clears about what he is doing and gives 100% effort. He never answers criticizes with words but does answer by his bat and work ethics. It’s difficult for anyone to be consistent in his/her work for more than two decades and still exhibit same energy throughout but, this little master has proved it is possible and has inspired millions of people worldwide. This man never accepted defeat, stood tall in all occasions and emerged successful. Hats off to him.

Whenever I am left alone, I always keep wondering about the kind of contribution made by towering personalities in different fields such as sports, religion and political administration. Every time I recall their services, I get inspired so much that I always try to imbibe some of their qualities in my day to day life to derive a lot of happiness and satisfaction. For instance, Abraham Lincoln is one person I feel is not only famous in the US but all over the world for his fighting qualities and excellent administrative abilities in leading the country in acute crisis. That the former US President was assassinated at the young age of 56 is something I find difficult to believe even now. When it comes to Sports, there is one name that inspires me a lot. And that is former world no.1 tennis star John McEnroe, who created waves by dethroning Bjorn Borg from the mantle, and also went on to prove to be a thorn in the flesh of all-time greats such as Jimmy Connors and Ivan Lendl. I only know how much the peace messages of Pope John Paul II has inspired me to work to my ability to make this world a more beautiful place to live in. The Pontiff had done his best to maintain global peace through his benevolent approach whenever there was a major disturbance across the world, be it political or religious.

I am tempted to write a parody of the carol, “We three kings of Orient are,” that starts off, “These three foods how scrumptious they are,” but I will spare you. I do not remember a time in my life that I was not a milk fanatic: My dad used to say he should buy me my own cow. In college we had unlimited access to free milk in the dorm cafeteria and I may be single-handedly responsible for their abolishing that privilege shortly after my tenure in that dorm. These days I buy a gallon of milk, open it and drink nearly the first quart straight from the bottle before I put it away. Though it’s technically a beverage, milk is tops on my list of three foods I’ll have for the rest of my life. Second is pizza, any pizza at all, though I am partial to spinach with feta cheese and to Hawaiian with ham and pineapple. Third, I must have chocolate: dark chocolate in any presentation at all, but, of course, with a huge glass of milk to accompany it.

I currently live in Dhaka City. It is the capital city of Bangladesh. The ICC World Cup 2011 inauguration ceremony was held in Dhaka city. This is a overcrowded city with a population of 10 million. Here lifestyle is more or less similar to an Indian City. Here traditional foods take a remarkable attraction although international food shop like KFC, Pizza Hut have their many branches in this city. It is the main center of trade and commerce in Bangladesh. Everyday lot of people enter this city in order to change their life. Here discrimination between the rich and the poor is very high. The city has good many shopping malls and numerous luxurious apartments yet people can be found sleeping along street without any shelter. Whatever living in Dhaka is great for me as I grew up here watching its diversity.

I used to get advice from many people around me. But most of the time I don’t like advices. Because, I only do the things I believe in. But some advices have great effect in life. When I was in high school, I was very close to my mathematics teacher because, mathematics was my favourite subject. One day he gave me a very important advise. That really changed my life. He told me to form a habit of reading good books. He also said me “Achieved knowledge turns into asset”. This advise helped me to go through many good books. Although I don’t like advices, this advice didn’t bother me at all.
